2019 Jaguar XJR575 Review; Powerful British Sedan
The 2019 Jaguar XJR575 has been going on for so long that you almost forget that he is still there. Suddenly, from an English swamp, a blue monster popped up, which devoured us with skin and hair.
They are highways of a level that you rarely see. New and beautiful, high on pillars swaying through a hilly landscape. And they are empty, so overwhelmingly empty. Every few minutes you come across a stray car, but no one else. And that in the middle of the day. The car does not budge if we use the entire asphalt to cut the curves with 160 km/h with a cadence as a competitive skier. The engine is a 5.0-liter V8 with a supercharger, which is spooned directly from the F-Type SSA into the limo. He is muzzled, so he sounds less like a striking mortar salvo, but as an ‘obedient’ machine gun. Then for us a long bridge over a wide valley, a miniature version of the famous viaduct of Millau in the heart of France. The road runs quite downhill and we have a clear view on kilometers of completely empty highway. It goes without thinking. Full Throttle.
We Drive already 180, but the 2019 Jaguar XJR575 catapults effortlessly forward. The 250 km/h border breaks he as if it is nothing and the counter shoots through. 270 and there are still kilometers straight empty road over. 280, the road flattens, but still falls, which helps just that bit to boost the speed. At 290, the car is noticeably not yet ready. 295, 296, 297 km/h, a faint curve comes into view and I am – even though the five rules above seem to prove the opposite – some averse to risk. Presumably rather than necessary, I, therefore, brake hard, but not even full and the XJ responds well as a dog. My record of 301 (Nissan GT-R) remains so, but just a little more straight away and the Jag was effortlessly passed unless the limiter intervenes hard at the official top of 300.
2019 Jaguar XJR575 Specs
This is not a beast, but a monster. On paper, this power limo of Jaguar has less power than the official competition. Then we are talking about the outbound Audi S8 Plus, Porsche Panamera Turbo S, BMW M760Li and the Mercedes S63 AMG. They all deliver more than 600 hp, but they also weigh more than 2,000 pounds. Thanks to the aluminum carriage, the weight of this XJR is well below the 1,900 kilos and you will notice it. Not only the way the car continues to pass above 200 km/h is impressive, but also its curves behavior. He feels at no time log, big or heavy. The butt knows no delayed reaction when sending in, but is fine to catch up if you (with ease) break the grip of the rear wheels.
Everything is correct. The coach is rigid, the now electrically energized power steering is communicative and the well-known eight traps dispenser responds well to input from the flippers. The way the car shrinks around you is unprecedented for this segment. A Panamera can driving the XJR effortlessly but does not offer the sheer pleasure that this power limo offers. He is embarrassing, brutal and noisy. Its appearance fits in doing so. The new blue lacquer is reserved to the 575 and all the slots and widenings on the car crawl to something Brabus would do with a Mercedes. This is no longer on the verge, but over the past, the shame is over. Now the design of the current XJ has always been somewhat doubtful so that tastes differ, for this car is not new.
On the interior, it is no different. The interior is obsolete, and even though the new multimedia system is a gigantic improvement, it is not innovative. The carbon elements show that this is not a normal limo, and who forgets the power of the car, his passengers can point to the large 575 logos in the center of the dashboard, on the seats or on the sills. The chairs also look cool, with beautiful stitching and diamond shapes. Moreover, they offer a lot of lateral support, which you need. The rest of the dashboard is lined with leather. The price of the car is partly due to the old-fashioned high CO2 emissions of 264 grams (for illustration, an S63 AMG does 203 grams) an alarming €203,000, which means that competitors are much more expensive by many (safety) technology. This car comes from a time when everything could still and everything else. No downsizing, no exhaust gas turbochargers and no cylinder shutdown. And that time was fun. As a result, you already know that this 575 will be a rarity on the Dutch and perhaps even European roads. The staff was very helpful.
