2020 DS7 Crossback E-Tense 4×4 Hybrid: Specs, Engine & More
Announced at the presentation of the Gallic SUV, all information and photos of the 2020 DS7 Crossback E-Tense 4×4 now appear. The arrival of this DS7 Crossback Hybrid marks the beginning of an era in which all new models of the premium French brand will be electrified.
The PSA Group may not have been one of the first to bet on hybrids and electric. But we can say that now that you have announced this intention, you are doing it with all your might. After confirming its intention to electrify all the new proposals of its four brands (Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel) from 2019, it begins to show its “spearheads” in this strategy. And just one day after confirming three hybrids for the lion brand, a new feature in this area also emerges in the area for the premium segment, with the arrival of the 2020 DS7 Crossback E-Tense 4×4. Which is also announced as the first premium hybrid SUV with gasoline engine for the C-segment.

The flagship SUV of the French brand will use a gasoline engine with 200cv and 300Nm (the 1.6 Puretech), supported by two electric motors of 110cv. Of this double, the propeller placed in the front axle has a torque of 337Nm, whereas the one of the rear one it delivers 166Nm. The result of this combination will be a combined power of 300hp and a torque of 450Nm in an all-wheel-drive configuration that allows you to move from 0 to 100km / h in 6.5 seconds. The transmission will be the EAT8 automatic optimized for electrified vehicles.
That is, the base turns out to be the same as the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 yesterday unveiled, with the same 13.2kWh battery, which allows an electric range of 50km, with a top speed set at 135km / h. With the new WLTP cycle, the DS7 Crossback Hybrid announces average fuel consumption of 2.2l / 100km, while fuel consumption drops below 50g / km of CO2. But these values will surely depend on the chosen driving mode, and the driver can choose between four options.
These include the ‘Zero Emission’ (using only electric motors), ‘Sport’ (designed for maximum power and driving pleasure), ‘Hybrid’ (weighing between consumptions and performances for minimum emissions) and ‘4WD’ (all-wheel drive, to ensure efficiency on all floors). In addition, there are also the e-Save functions to save up to 10km / 20km from the end of your travel path (important, for example, for those traveling on motorways, where approaching your home), and Brake, to boost energy recovery by slowing down and braking.
In terms of aesthetics, there are few differentiating elements between the DS7 Crossback Hybrid E-Tense, being guaranteed to maintain the same interior areas and in the luggage compartment. But on the outside, you can see new elements like the 19 “wheels in Gray Crystal. On board, there are also distinctive features such as the “E” symbol placed on the gear control lever, an element that is inspired by the DS E-Tense concept. This hybrid DS7 Crossback will probably be the second big news of DS at the Paris Motor Show (the presence of this model has not yet been confirmed by the brand) after having also been unveiled the new compact SUV DS3 Crossback.
