2020 Porsche 911 Convertible 0-100
here is 2020 Porsche 911 Convertible. Porsche did not wait long to extend the range of the 2020 911 with a Cabriolet version. It promises to be a hot summer.
Barely 6 weeks after the launch of the 911 Coupé, the open version of the new 992 generation follows. A tradition that Porsche started in 1981 when the German manufacturer showed an open prototype at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The production version rolled off the band a year later.
The Convertible follows the refined lines of the Coupé. With an adapted roof construction, of course. Porsche chooses again for a canvas roof with a glass rear window and with a subcutaneous structure of magnesium. That helps to reduce weight. The opening and closing are done fully automatically if required driving up to a speed of 50 km / h. It only takes 12 seconds to fully open the roof of the 2020 Porsche 911 Convertible.
Also as Carrera S
Just like the coupé version, the 911 CabConvertible violet debuts Carrera S and Carrera 4S. Nothing new under the sun: here too the 3-liter boxer turbo develops the capacity of 450 hp at 6,500 rpm for a maximum torque of 530 Nm between 2,300 and 5,000 rpm. An improved injection system reduces both emissions and consumption. The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h takes 3.9 seconds (or 3.7 if you opt for the optional Sports Chrono Package) and the top speed is 306 km / h. These are the figures for the Carrera S, the four-wheel drive 4S sprint faster (3.8 seconds without and 3.6 seconds with Sports Chrono Package), but runs less fast (304 km / h).
Compared to its predecessor, the 992 generation of the 911 does it with the adapted placement of the engine mounts, which increases torsional stiffness. And for the first time, you can order the 911 Convertible with the PASM chassis (Porsche Active Suspension Management). This implies shorter and stiffer springs, tight stabilizer bars and a suspension reduced by 10 millimeters. The result? More neutral handling and better weight distribution. Like the coupé, the new 911 gets a larger track width.
The dashboard and the interior are that of the coupé. With a largely digital counterpart, only the rev counter remains analogous. In the area of safety, the new 911 is given a so-called Wet-driving mode, a function that has to combat aquaplaning.
